Who hasn’t heard of Newton’s Laws of Motion? Objects in motion stay in motion, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah!…I’m sure you all heard that one. Did you ever really think about the third law? For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. It’s total common sense really…right?
Have you ever thought of this law in the terms of life? There are so many things in our universe that we can’t see…like the evaporation process…but we know it happens. We can’t see the water molecules being lifted into the air…unless of course condensation happens…but you understand what I am getting at right? Many things happen, that we know are happening but we can’t see.
The same is true for our thoughts…we can’t see them, but they are there. Our kindness towards others…again, you might not be able to see it but it is there. Our negativity towards others…same thing, you may not see it, but it’s there. They are really under our control.
They say that even with life, what we give there is an equal and opposite reaction. The craziest thing happened to me one day. My daughter wasn’t feeling well, but didn’t want to miss school. We gave her some Tylenol Complete before she left home, but this was only good for four hours. I thought that maybe, I’d email her teacher and let her know the situations, and bring the Tylenol with me, since her school was adjacent to where I taught. Maybe she could slip away and let me give her some more medicine at lunchtime.
I emailed this lovely teacher, who also taught my son. She is such a fantastic individual, and this was my email to her:
“Before I go on about my “woes”, I would love to thank you for all you do for our girl, and the fact that you are so approachable. You are such a valuable teacher, and I appreciate all you do and have done for our children.
C is sick again…this time it’s all in her nose and sinus area. I gave her some Tylenol Complete, but it’s only good for 4 hours. I have some here in the classroom, and told her to ask you if she could run over really quickly at dinner to get some if she needed more…it’s just like a cough medicine…nothing too drastic.”
I wanted to express my gratitude for all she had done for our children. I emailed this at 8:29am and at 9:43am I received this email from a totally different person…one of my son’s teachers:
I just wanted to take a minute to let you know how much I appreciate your son’s work in Social Studies class. He is always so engaged in the discussions and there are times when, if it weren’t for him, I feel as though I would be talking to myself. He possesses a very good general knowledge base and this serves him well in Social Studies. He is such a pleasure to have in class and is a good role model for the other kids when it comes to participating in discussions and engaging in the material.
Hope you have a great day!”
Coincidence? I! Don’t! Think so! It was the Third Law in the Newton Laws of Motion…For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction…I sent out a gratitude email, and I received a gratitude email…equal and opposite reaction…Isn’t that mystifying? You will get out of this universe what you give into it.
Luke 6:38 even tells us, “”Give, and it will be given to you. They will pour into your lap a good measure– pressed down, shaken together, and running over. For by your standard of measure it will be measured to you in return.””
If you are negative, negativity will be given back to you. If you are bitter, bitterness will come back to you…if you are kind, kindness will come back to you. God told us, Luke wrote it and Newton proved it, and whether you want to believe it, that is your choice…stay negative if you want…Whether you can see things or not, they are still there. Just like spreading gratitude, or kindness…you get what you give. The state of your world is a reflection of your state of mind, because it is true, what you give is what you will get back in return. What you think about expands…even though you can’t see it…it will. It’s the law of physics…who can argue with the laws of physics? Not I!
